Downtown Rock Island’s riverfront is changing. Plans are underway to create Schwiebert Riverfront Park which will be completed in 2010. In the meantime, the downtown riverfront is still a great place to watch bald eagles in the winter and fireworks in the summer. Walk or bike on the bike path for a great view of the Mississippi River, the #1 tourist attraction in the Quad Cities.
